Quantitative data on the frequency of occurrence of the prepositional and prefixal morpheme за is discussed on the basis of text excerpts from the languages in contrast. Some similarities and differences across the two languages in the glottometric behaviour of the morpheme under discussion are analysed. An attempt is made to clarify and explain the reasons for the nature and origin of the differences.</style></abstract></record></records></xml>
